Samsung to Terminate “Story Sharing” Service: Backup Your Data

If you are a Samsung smartphone user, then you must have used its SAMSUNG Gallery -‘Story sharing’ service. This enables users to convert their captured snaps in to story. Its one of the fruitful services from Samsung, but unfortunately, it will no longer available after 27 March 2018.

In an apology mail, sent by Samsung, the company is notifying its users to backup all their data. Also, Samsung is offering a backup service to ensure consumers data protection. As well as, in the mail, they have shared the step-by-step instruction to backup the data.

We would like to sincerely thank all of you for using Story sharing.

The Story sharing service will, however, be ending on March 27, 2018.

Until the service completely ends, we will be providing a backing up service to make sure that your precious content is protected.

Once the service ends, you will not be able to save or back up your content. Therefore, if you wish to store your content, please follow the instructions below to back it up.

※ If there is not enough space left on your device, you may not be able to back up content.

Select the photos and videos you need to back up via shared stories, and then download them to the Download folder by tapping the Download button at the top of the screen.

[Service termination date and backup period]

Service termination date: March 27, 2018

Backup period: Until the date the service ends.

[Disposal of personal information]

Subject: Story sharing users

Date of disposal of personal information: March 27, 2018

Once the service ends, personal information that has been collected from you for the purpose of providing you with our service will be disposed of, in order to protect your personal information.

However, information that must be stored in accordance with applicable laws and regulations will be stored for the period specified by the relevant laws and regulations and then disposed of immediately.

We hope that you will continue to enjoy our new and improved services in the future.
